A selection of studio and location self-portraits.

Each of these photographs have various conditions, whether that is due to the natural or studio lighting, the window of oppotunity to capture each photograph, and the pre-planned tone they are designed to convey. This is especially apparent in my location shoots, as I aim to avoid other people in the background, whilst ensure the background has an appealing composition. In all cases, they required unique and controlled camera settings to maintain a clear exposure (specifically in the eyes) and a high-quality composition without noise.

Highlights include the "Angel" shots, which were shot using three LED panels, the strongest of which as a backlight. This meant I had to manually monitor the shutter speed to reduce blur from my natural movement, aperture to keep the black sheet background out of focus, and ISO to keep it as low as possible to ensure a perfect exposure without noise.
